The Salesian University School of Sarrià (Escola Universitària Salesiana de Sarrià - EUSS) is the result of the experience of the Salesians in the world of education, to offer specialized university in the field of engineering and, in particular, industrial engineering
To all of our friends who come to EUSS,
A warm welcome from those who make up the Rinaldi Foundation Board of Trustees. Being a Salesian institution, we would like you to make yourselves at home from the very first contact with our school, making it your own, just like Don Bosco would have liked.
The Rinaldi Foundation Board of Trustees is made of both Salesians, and personalities from the academic and professional world. It exists entirely for EUSS, and has no other purpose than to promote its development at the service of a " comprehensive education through teaching, research, collaboration with companies and continuous training to respond to the needs and demands of today's society, according to the Christian inspiration criteria, and always falling under the umbrella of the Salesian Preventive System", as our Statutes state.
We live in a globalised and rapidly changing world, always in urgency to adapt structures and institutions to technological innovations, and economic demands. Thus, we run the risk of forgetting about people's needs, what is more, of destroying cultural and natural elements, and values underpinning both the dignity and the survival of the human being - which is unfortunately already happening.
The dimensions of EUSS, along with its practical orientation - holding the Engineering by Doing model as its hallmark - offer the most favourable conditions for personalised attention and collaboration. We always base our action on respect and participation, as well as on the foundations of a "social friendship" that recognises the dignity of each person, broadens our vision, and contributes to creating a more liveable world.
We are honoured by your interest in EUSS, and sincerely hope that you will find the attention you deserve in us.
Kind regards,
Orlando González
President of the Rinaldi Foundation Board of Trustees
Dear all,
I am pleased to welcome you to Escola Universitària Salesiana de Sarrià (EUSS) on behalf of all those who are part of it. We are an engineering school with more than 25 years of history. Our mission is the comprehensive training of future engineering professionals.
Two main aspects are paramount for EUSS when it comes to engineering training. On the one hand, the development of solid, well-grounded technical skills, connected with the needs of the business world. On the other hand, the training of individuals in the field of transversal skills, specifically training professionals who are aware of the social and environmental impact of their profession. We believe that technical training cannot be detached from a vocation of service to people and society.
With these goals in mind, we are committed to practical engineering education, giving priority to the development of the required skills for students to be able to join a labour market, whose dynamism demands constant learning.
We hope these words will help you get to know who we are, what our style is, and what we can offer you for your training in the field of engineering.
Warm regards,
Dr. Ignasi Florensa y Ferrando
School Director

Escola Universitària de Sarrià (EUSS) is part of an educational tradition which dates back to the end of the 19th century. Since 1884, Escoles Professionals Salesianes de Sarrià (EPSS) have trained the best professionals in fields like graphics, tailoring, shoemaking, or carpentry, more recently including mechanics, electronics, and electricity, to name but a few.
In 1989, the first steps were taken towards the creation of Escola Universitària Salesiana de Sarrià (EUSS) with the intention of complementing the mission of this school of long experience and tradition. Our goals were clear: to elevate the technical training of our students to university standards, and to both maintain and strengthen our education style, based on coexistence, tolerance, and interpersonal relationships, as well as personal attention to each and every student, which is the hallmark of Salesian schools all over the world.
In 1992, the Rinaldi Private Foundation was created. A charitable educational foundation, owner of the future EUSS, with the mission of ensuring the proper functioning of the University School, and the granting of scholarships, aid and awards to both students and entities.
In February 1994, a collaboration agreement was signed with the Autonomous University of Barcelona. This agreement regulates the school’s academic life. Shortly after this, the first year of our Industrial Engineering degree - specialising in Industrial Electronics – came to life.
In 1999, our Degree in Electricity was added, followed by the first year of the Technical Industrial Engineering Degree programme in Mechanics in 2002-2003, which had remarkable success.
In the 2002-2003 school year, the school moved to a new building which more than doubled its capacity. That building was completely refurbished to become the current EUSS headquarters.
Subsequently, in the school year 2003-2004, the first edition of our Master's Degree in Industrial Informatics was launched. It was organised by the Telecommunications and Systems Engineering Department of UAB, together with the Electronics Department of our school.
Some time later, in the year 2008-2009, the first edition of our Master's Degree in Industrial Business Management – EUUS’s first master's degree adapted to the EHEA - was born.
2009-2010 was the year of the great change in the Spanish degree system by implementing a substantial number of Undergraduate Programmes. EUSS transformed all its Industrial Technical Engineering degrees in Bachelor’s Degrees, keeping the same professional competences. At the same time, a new one appears: our Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Organisation Engineering . The later, together with our Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, our Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial and Automatic Electronic Engineering, and our Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering make up our school’s bachelor’s degree offer.
In the 2014-2015 school year, our Master's Degree in Industrial Business Management changed its name to Master's Degree in Industrial Management and Organisation.
During the 2016-2017 school year, EUSS completed the accreditation process for its bachelor’s degrees to finally obtain institutional accreditation in 2022-2023.
The new Bachelor’s Degree in Renewable Energies and Energy Efficiency Engineering was introduced in 2019-2020, replacing our old Degree in Electrical Engineering, while the Bachelor’s Degree in Automotive Engineering started in 2020-2021 .
